Chocolat
Today, I’m sat in the wonderful little coffee bar in the back of my favourite shop in Edinburgh, Hotel Chocolat. As a terrible chocolate snob, I love to come in here and peruse the single origin chocolates and beautiful flavour combinations, and if I have a spare hour when I’m in town, I do tend to gravitate here.
At the moment I’m enjoying a chilli-infused liquid chocolat, an enticing hot drink made with steamed milk and 70% cocoa chocolate. Mmm.
This place is one of those lovely little treasures of Edinburgh: the shop itself is an unassuming wee place on Frederick Street, and from the street you wouldn’t even know the coffee bar was here. If and when I move away from the city, I’m going to miss places like this, and the Modern, and Artisan Roast. I suppose every city has places like these, but I know Edinburgh, and I know my favourites.
Anyway, I think that’s all I wanted to say. Check out Hotel Chocolat, and I hope you like the Purist with Salted Caramel.
